Simon’s Update
What a truly memorable and special week it has been at Brookfield.
I would like to begin by saying a huge thank you to everyone who helped make our International Evening such a wonderful celebration. To our children, families and staff who came together to share food, music, stories, traditions and learning from around the world – thank you. It was a genuinely special evening and one that I feel incredibly privileged to have been a part of.
Events like Thursday evening remind me just how fortunate we are to be part of the Brookfield community. One of our greatest strengths is the rich diversity of cultures, experiences and backgrounds that make our school such a vibrant place to learn and grow. Seeing so many families come together, sharing their heritage with such pride and generosity, was both inspiring and heartwarming.
More than anything, I hope our children left the evening with a real sense of belonging. At Brookfield, we are proud of who we are, where we come from and the unique stories that make us who we are. When we come together as a community, learn from one another and celebrate our differences, we become stronger together. Thursday evening captured that spirit perfectly.
It was also a great pleasure to spend time chatting with so many families throughout the evening and, of course, enjoying some absolutely delicious food! The generosity, warmth and enthusiasm shown by everyone made it a night to remember.
Alongside our celebrations, we have also been very busy in school this week developing our mathematical reasoning skills. Across the school, children have taken part in puzzles, games, investigations and problem-solving challenges. They have shown fantastic perseverance and teamwork as they tackled some tricky mathematical mysteries – including at least one major mystery involving myself!
To round off the week, Friday saw children invited to come to school dressed as rock stars as part of our celebration of Times Tables Rock Stars and the enthusiasm was fantastic. Many of our children fully embraced the challenge and arrived looking ready to headline their own world tours! I was also delighted to see that many of our staff joined in too. It created a wonderful atmosphere across the school and was a brilliant way to end the half term together.
A huge thank you and well done to all of our children, families and staff for making this such a positive and memorable week.
I hope that the half-term break brings you plenty of rest, relaxation, opportunities to spend time with family and friends, and perhaps even a little sunshine.
Have a wonderful break and we look forward to welcoming everyone back soon.
P.S We will have lots of loevly photos to share with you after half term, thanks to Lauren and our Governor, Pete.
