 Simons Update

This week, we have been delighted to welcome our new children into Nursery and Reception, and I want to say a huge well done to them all after completing their first few days with us. Starting school is such an important milestone, and we have been so impressed by the confidence, enthusiasm and resilience they have already shown.

I also want to say a big well done to all of the new children who have joined us across the school. Whenever I ask for volunteers to help someone who is new to Brookfield, I am always so proud to see just how many children put their hands up to offer their support. It is such a lovely reflection of the kindness and care that exists within our school community.

We have also been blown away by how many children have already learnt our school expectations and values and completed their induction passports. We will, of course, continue to talk about our values, expectations and responsibilities throughout the year, but we have been so impressed by how enthusiastically the children have thrown themselves into learning about them and, most importantly, demonstrating them through their actions each day. Please test them at home on their values!

It has been a really positive start to the year, and we are incredibly proud of the way the children have embraced school life so far.

We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming Parents Evening, which will take place on Thursday, 15th October, from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Please note that children will finish school early at 1:00 PM on this day.

You can book your slot through your Scopay account. For those in Catkin, there will be a sign-up sheet available in the classroom. Blossom Nursery will remain open as normal for our younger pupils during this time.

We look forward to seeing you!

Our Brookfield School Community

We would love to invite you to come and talk all things Brookfield School Community (we used to be called the PTA) next week. Throughout the school year the BSC organises events such as the Winter and Summer Fairs and works together with our school to build a friendly and connected school community.  Please come along and find out more, we would love to meet you and hear your ideas.
Thursday 24 September from 8pm at the Star Pub and
Friday 25 September 9am at Highgate Newtown Community Centre.
Also happening next week:
Friday 25 September at pick up time, Year 6 are holding a Bake Sale at the junior playground to raise money for their leavers’ hoodies and yearbooks.  Come along to buy delicious treats and help our Year 6s with their fundraising.
Sunday 27 September from 10am to 1pm at Palmer’s Estate Field (off Wyndham Crescent N19 5YJ),  join four local community focused groups including the BSC for outdoor family fun! The BSC will be running a cake stall on the day: as always, we would be grateful for any baked goodies you may be able to donate, home made or shop bought. Just bring along on the day. There will be face painting, whittling and conker crafts, fabric crafts, cakes, toy and book stall, family movement sessions and  more. All activities are free to access with donations gratefully received.  More information at https://www.mwhealth.co.uk/wild-urban-moon-event/
