Simon's Update
A huge thank you to all families for supporting the children in having such a wonderful World Book Day. It was such a lovely atmosphere in school, and the disco afterwards was brilliant. I think the children had a wonderful day and our staff certainly did too. Thank you to all parents and carers for everything you did to support the disco and make it such a memorable evening for the children.
In other news, Year 4 have finished their swimming lessons— a hearty well done to them all!
Year 6 also had trips this week to the London Archives to support their learning about World War Two. The children found the visit incredibly interesting and it really helped bring their learning to life.
I also wanted to say a huge thank you to Coco, Edith, Cleo, Celeste and Emily from Oak Class for leading an assembly on wellbeing on Monday. They spoke about how they support their own wellbeing during times of stress and did so brilliantly.
Finally, on Saturday 14th we will be holding a Community Day at school from 10am–1pm. We would love any volunteers who wouldn’t mind coming along to do a bit of digging and planting around the school grounds. It would be wonderful to see as many of you there as possible!
Our Learning Week
Whole School News
Haiku Poetry Competition
Following the success of the flash fiction competition a few weeks ago, we have recently told the children about our exciting new writing challenge - Haiku creation. We wrote to all parents earlier this week with the details of the challenge, and how each year group can set the challenge according to their year group.
The closing date is the end of term, so please do encourage and support your child in taking part in the challenge - we have already heard some great poems!
Open Afternoon
Open afternoon will take place on Thursday 26th March from 1.30 - 7pm. Don't forget to book your open afternoon appointment with your class teacher via Scopay. Appointments for Catkin Nursery can be made via a sign up sheet at drop off or pick up.
School will close at 1pm for children in Catkin - Year 6, and there is no after school club on this day. Blossom Nursery will be open as normal.
Brookfield School Community
A huge thank you to all the amazing volunteers who gave their time and energy at our World Book Day disco last night.
Such a fun evening celebrating books, welcoming the first signs of spring, and raising money for our school.

Saving the Planet with Brookfield
The big news is our community day on Saturday 14th March, from 10-1pm. All welcome, no expertise needed. Just enthusiasm to dig and plant and get the school looking greener!
And then on Friday 13th March, there will be a bake sale at 3.20pm in both playgrounds. Please bring donations or drop them at the office beforehand, and please come spend and support the school!
