Simon's Update
It’s been a surprisingly beautiful week weather-wise, with plenty of winter sunshine — and it’s really helped set the tone for an action-packed few days here at Brookfield.
A huge highlight came on Thursday, when our Year 2 superstars took to the stage for their winter performance — and it was an absolute smash hit. We are so proud of all our Year 2 children. It’s no small feat to stand up in front of so many people and perform with confidence, and they did it brilliantly. A big thank you to the entire Year 2 team for pulling everything together — absolutely fantastic.
Also on Thursday, our Year 6 pupils took on the £5 Challenge, and what a success it was. The children were each lent £5 to start a small business, culminating in a winter fair with a wonderful assortment of goods for sale. They were incredibly engaged in the project and showed real creativity, teamwork and determination throughout. I hope they enjoyed the whole process as much as we enjoyed seeing the results!
Looking ahead, we’re hoping to see as many of you as possible at the Christmas Concert on Tuesday. Please do check the emails for timings and details.
Wishing you all a restful weekend. And as my daughter reminded me this morning: “Don’t worry Dad — just five more get-ups before the break!”
Have a lovely weekend, and we’ll see you all next week.

Festive Songs Concert
We hope that you are able to join us for the festive concert at St Mary Brookfield church, on Tuesday 16th December. Key stage 1 (Years 1 & 2) will be at 10-11am. These year groups may need some additional adults to help walk the children to the church. If you are able to help from 9.15am, please let the class teacher know, and they will let you know whether they need anyone.
For years 3-6, we look forward to seeing parents and carers from 2-3pm. If you intend on taking your child straight from the church, please ensure you have told the class teacher before leaving the church.
End of term arrangements
A quick reminder that the Autumn term finishes next Friday, 19th December at 1pm. There is no after school club on this day.
The spring term starts on Tuesday 6th January at 8.50am for all children.
Brookfield School Community
Thank you to everyone who came to our school community Winter Fair last Saturday. A big thank you to everyone who volunteered in any way: you made the 2025 Winter Fair possible, and your efforts raised about £4,500 for our school!
If your employer offers matched funding, please apply - every pound doubled makes a difference to our children's learning. Please contact your class rep if you need any info on how matched funding works.
Below are the raffle prize winning tickets. Please collect your prize from the office before Thursday 18th December:
