Pupil Leadership
At our school, we believe every pupil has the potential to lead and make a difference. Through our School Council, Eco Committee, Playground Champions, Sports Ambassadors, and Maths Ambassadors, pupils are encouraged to take responsibility, share ideas, and support others — building confidence, teamwork, and communication skills.
Every class is represented on the School Council, which meets regularly to discuss how to make our school even better. Our buddy system pairs Year 5 with Year 2 classes to take part in shared learning opportunities, helping younger pupils prepare for the transition to Key Stage 2.
We place a special focus on empowering our Year 6 pupils. They take on key leadership roles — from chairing School Council meetings and leading assemblies to mentoring younger pupils and organising whole-school events. These experiences build adaptability, independence, and responsibility, preparing them academically, socially, and emotionally for secondary school and beyond.
Below are our Pupil Leadership Opportunities and the application form for our Year 6 pupils. This process is an exciting opportunity for them to rise to the challenge — completing an application, taking part in an interview with our leadership team, and earning their role. It helps pupils build confidence, resilience, and communication skills while preparing them to make a real, positive difference to our school. These experiences not only benefit our community but also equip our Year 6 pupils with the leadership skills they will carry into secondary school and beyond.
