Simon’s Update

It’s been a real pleasure this week to welcome back children from half term and get the ball rolling on the final half term of the year and thank goodness we’ve had some sunshine to enjoy without a wet play in sight!

This week we’ve made some changes to our playtimes over on key stage 2 with separate playtimes for Year 3 and 4 children from the children in Years 5 and 6. It means more space, more chances to use the ship, climbing frame and a chance to have the MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) all to themselves for a day.  If you have any feedback on the changes do let me know on the gates – the children I’ve talked to so far have found it a positive change, so fingers crossed it continues to be successful!

I also wanted to give a shout out to two brilliant teachers we have welcomed to Brookfield this year. Both Rachael (our new music teacher) and Alix (Our FAB artist in residence) have added so much creativity, joy and all round brilliance to our music and art provision over the past few months – children are having a blast in music sessions with Rachael and the artwork being created and now displayed across school is outstanding and am so happy that both Rachael and Alix will be with us for the foreseeable future delivering fantastic learning opportunities for our children.

As the weather does seem to be on an upward trajectory (also fingers and toes crossed) please remember to ensure your children have water bottles in school, sun cream if needed and a summer hat just in case. Our classrooms do get very warm in the summer so if anyone has a tower fan they would be willing to donate to their children’s classes to help keep our little ones cool it would be greatly appreciated!

Finally, if you are able to support the school by attending the Quiz night next Thursday, organised by our wonderful Brookfield School Community, please do check out information below on how to secure your tickets.
