Laurel’s Update

Sincere thanks to the parents and carers who have already competed our survey – there is still a short time to do this and we really welcome your feedback. The survey is available here https://forms.gle/pjwjxnwhWqwsXrUHA

Within this newsletter, we are sharing some of the activities and events planned in Camden to celebrate the 76th Anniversary of the Empire Windrush’s arrival in Britain. On Monday we are having special assemblies about this historic moment that marked the beginning of the journey of nearly half a million people from the Caribbean to Britain. You might want to encourage your children to speak to members of their family to share their own stories about migration or important turning points in their lives. If any of our families would be willing to come into school and talk about their experiences, to classes or in an assembly, please let me know.

Today, children have been told about the teachers and support staff who they will be learning with next year. While you will recognise most of the names, we do have four brilliant teachers joining us at Brookfield from September.

In Reception we are welcoming Phoebe, who has experience in two Camden schools: Eleanor Palmer and Holy Trinity St Silas and we are so excited for her to arrive at Brookfield. In Year One, we are over the moon to have Imogen joining the staff team, Imogen has also been with us for the best part of the year and we’re so happy she is joining us permanently.

In our Year Six cohort, we are welcoming two very experienced teachers in Gareth and Ashleigh.  Both have worked in schools in Haringey and Islington respectively for a number of years and are fantastic appointments.
