Laurel’s Update

This week we welcomed three senior leaders from across the country and a lead reviewer from Challenge Partners who were with us for three days. It was a really supportive experience and involved lesson visits, meetings with children and staff. They were really impressed with the relationships at the school, brilliant teaching and attitudes to learning. We look forward to sharing the full report with you soon.

Next week, our wonderful year 6 children will be embarking on their end of Key Stage 2 Assessments (SATs). They begin on Monday 13th May and end of Thursday 16th May. The children are really well prepared. We hope they can enjoy the opportunity to shine and demonstrate our value of ‘achievement’. We are so hugely proud of their efforts and the excellent role models they are for the rest of the school.

It is with mixed emotions that I write to share some staffing news with you today. At the end of this academic year we will be saying farewell to both our Assistant Headteachers, Lauren and Faye. Both have been offered exciting opportunities in new roles and although we will be sad to say goodbye, we are just so immensely proud of them both in making the next steps in their professional career.  Lauren and Faye have been invaluable members of our school community, bringing dedication, passion, and warmth to their roles as assistant headteachers .

Their commitment to the growth and well-being of our students has been evident in everything they do, and they have touched the lives of many within our school community. While we are saddened to say goodbye to Lauren and Faye, we are also excited for the opportunities that lie ahead for them. They have both contributed so much to the growth and success of our school, and their legacy will continue to shape the Brookfield community for years to come.

With this news however, we also have brilliant people to come in and carry the Brookfield torch. We have appointed the fantastic Lucy Winser to the role of Acting Deputy Head and we will be joined by Rhys Lewis, a very experienced Assistant Head who is joining us from Bristol.

As we prepare to bid farewell to Lauren and Faye, I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to them for their unwavering dedication and outstanding contributions to Brookfield. They have been shining examples of what it means to lead with passion, integrity, and kindness, and their presence will be sorely missed.

In the coming weeks, we will be working closely with Lauren and Faye to ensure a smooth transition as we prepare to welcome new leadership to Brookfield. Please join me in thanking them for their service and in wishing them all the best as they embark on this new chapter in their lives.
