Laurel’s Update

On Sunday evening, I had the pleasure of attending the Camden Music Spring Festival. I was so proud when Alberta in Willow class opened the Camden Youth Recorder Group’s slot with a solo performance. This was followed on Monday by passionate singing from our Junior Choir at the Camden Primary Choir Festival. Our choir joined primary schools from across the borough. Thanks to Fr. Damian and Faye for preparing the children so well. I am delighted to share that Brookfield’s new music teacher, Rachael, will be starting in the Summer term and teaching all classes from Nursery to Year 6.

Today we have held a special assembly for Linda and Lillie who are leaving Brookfield. Linda has worked with dedication, expertise and creativity at Brookfield for over 32 years and led our breakfast, lunchtime and after school club provision. We wish Linda a wonderful, and well earned, retirement. Lillie has been a fantastic class teacher, transformed mental health provision and been committed in her roles as Inclusion Manager and Deputy Safeguarding Lead. We hope Lillie enjoys this next chapter as she prepares for the arrival of her baby.

As we come to the end of a busy Spring term can I thank all the staff for their enthusiasm and perseverance. I wish all our community a joyful Easter break and look forward to the Summer term which begins on Monday 15th April for Reception – Year 6 and on Tuesday 17th April for Blossom and Catkin Nurseries.
