Laurel’s Update

This week, Brookfield children were inspired by visits to Cecil Sharp House to hear the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Wonderlab at the Science Museum. One parent commented: What struck me most (and touched me deeply) was how well-behaved yet absolutely free, allowed to be themselves, happy and so much looked after were kids from both Brookfield Primary School classes.” On Thursday, our Camden Professional Partner visited and conducted a learning walk of the whole school. He was particularly impressed with the well-attended ‘Stay, play and learn’ session in Catkin class. This was part of our work with Camden Kids Talk to support children’s language and communication. Rob, Rosie and I look forward to seeing children and families at tomorrow’s ‘Community Day’ from 11am-3pm. Please come and help us with gardening, organising playground equipment and improving our learning environment.

Linda, who has worked with expertise, dedication and care for over 32 years, will be retiring at Easter. Linda currently runs our popular Breakfast and After School Clubs and is the Year 2 Learning Support Assistant. I am sure you will join me in wishing her a well-deserved rest as she prepares to start this next chapter.
