Laurel’s Update

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to our Winter Fair last Saturday. The afternoon was a huge success and a fantastic celebration of the Brookfield School Community. Our wonderful children entertained us all afternoon on the stage, with dancing, playing instruments and singing accompanied by delicious home cooked food and drinks. There was a range of activities and stalls, visits to Santa in his Grotto and even festive bike rides!

Please make a note of the events you are invited to in the run up to the Christmas break. Further information is below and if you haven’t already, please make sure you have completed the trips permission form and considered a voluntary donation (which you can pay on your Scopay account).

Carol Concerts Years 1-6

We hope that you are able to join us at our annual Carol Concerts at St Mary Brookfield Church on Thursday 14th December. Years 1 and 2 will be at 10am, and Years 3-6 at 2.15pm. You are welcome to bring family, and given the capacity of the Church, we are not restricting numbers of parents and carers that can attend. There

There is plenty of seating and standing room at the rear of the Church. If you are able to help walk to the Church or back, please get in touch with your class teachers on your year group email (e.g. There will be refreshments at the end of each concert and a retiring collection towards our arts provision if you are able to bring some loose change!

As reception classes have organised a separate trip to St Mary Brookfield on Tuesday 12th December, and have their own festive songs here at the school on Friday 15th January, they will not be going to the Carol Concert as originally advertised.

Key stage 2 Theatre Trip

On Friday 15th December, years 3-6 will be going to see Refilwe at the National Youth Theatre, Holloway, to see Refilwe, which is inspired by Zukiswa Wanner’s Southern African retelling of the classic fairy-tale Rapunzel. Years 3 and 4 will be attending the 10.30am performance, and Years 5 and 6 will be attending at 12.30pm. If you are able to accompany your child’s year group on the walk to and from the theatre, please get in touch with your year group via email.

Key stage 1 Theatre Trip

On Tuesday 19th December, Years 1 and 2 will be visiting Jacksons Lane Theatre to see Billy Goats Gruff. We will be leaving school at 12.30pm after lunch, and returning by 3.30pm. Thanks to those that have volunteered already to accompany the children.
