Laurel’s Update

As I write my update this week, we are preparing for the opening of our Forest School Garden and I hope lots of children and families are able to join us after school, in the sunshine, to celebrate this inspirational space. We will be celebrating how, through kindness, responsibility and achievement, we have come together as a community to create a garden that can be enjoyed for generations to come!

This is also an opportunity for us to thank: our Camden Mayor, Councillor Nazma Rahman, for officially opening our Forest School Garden, the children, our innovative Forest School Gardener, Rob, Daisy Bodley, Charlotte Pearson and members of the Forest Garden Working Group, our Governors and especially Robin, Anne and Susie, the Brookfield Climate Action Group, the Brookfield PTA for their involvement, support and fundraising, Murphy’s for the groundwork, Thames Water, Growing Green, Derek, Raph and Jack for carpentry, parents and children who helped at our  Community Days, Tanya for the music and all the unsung heroes who have made this garden such a success.

Happy Diwali to all our Hindu families who were celebrating last weekend. Thanks to the Brookfield Community for organising the lantern walk and crafts for the children.

Thanks to all the parents and carers who voted in the recent Parent Governor elections. We received the highest ever number of votes and the successful candidate will be announced in next week’s newsletter.
