Year 1 & 2 Caryl Hart Author visit
This week Year 1 and 2 were visited by the author Caryl Hart. She came to share her amazing book 'Meet the weather'. She talked to us all about different types of weather, sang a song with us and explained how she turned her writing into a real life book. The children were all lucky enough to receive a free copy of the book to take home too!
Cleo runs for Brookfield!
Cleo in Year 5 recently decided to complete a sponsored walk and run up Parliament Hill, and decided to raise money for PE and football equipment at Brookfield. We are so proud of you Cleo for this fantastic achievement.
David, our PE coach said "I was blown away when I heard about Cleo's run! One of our aims this year is to buy new football kits for our boys and girls team, and thanks to Cleo's fundraising, this is now possible!"

THE WINTER FAIR
Saturday 2 December
12-3pm
Please put it in your calendars!
Our next online planning meeting is at 8pm on Tuesday 21 November.
Here's the link to the meeting: https://meet.google.com/tgb-qxyz-xxs
All welcome, especially any reps with questions about stalls, or any other matters!
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
There are lots of small, easy ways you can help the fair. For example:
- Please start putting aside old toys and books (and don't take them to the charity shops just yet!). A week before the fair you can drop them off at school for the second-hand books/toy stall.
- Let us know at committee@brookfieldsch.org.uk if you have any ideas for good prizes for the raffle (can be anything - specific items / vouchers / local business freebies etc!)
- Encourage your child to SIGN UP to perform on the stage! This will be run by the brilliant drumming teacher Tanya, and she welcomes ALL kinds of performance: instruments, dance, magic, comedy, gym, anything! There will be a sign-up sheet going up on the music room door on Monday.
- Keep your old empty jam jars and put some fun things in them - we are having a jam jar stall at the fair, and welcome donations of jars filled with.... anything. Beads / chocolates / small toys / whatever will fit.
Also... THANK YOU to all the brilliant parents and carers who have offered to make food for the fair. We are going to have a wonderful array of dishes from around the world and the BBQ will be entirely halal!
FINALLY, thanks to everyone who came along the Diwali walk. We are really hoping to do more community events like this - please email us with any you'd particularly like to see in the mix.

Little Village Winter Warmers
All of us at Little Village wanted to say a huge thank you to you for partnering with us as part of our Winter Warmers campaign.
Thanks to you hosting a donation box or donation drive, we have collected an incredible 20,000 items to help keep thousands of babies and children cosy and warm this winter.
We spoke to a Mum this week who received items from the campaign and she said: “I want to thank all those people who have donated to Little Village. Honestly, you have changed my life. Before I was figuring out what I could and couldn’t afford – you have to eat first so that’s where my money would have had to go over clothes and warm coats for my children. It was incredible to know that there was someone out there to help. It helps people like me, who felt a bit helpless at the time, gives you some joy and hope that you can progress through your life with more happiness."
Hello from the Climate Action Group (CAG) section of the newsletter.
We’re excited about the opening this Friday of Brookfield’s Forest Garden, which brings green and wildlife into the playground.
Our neighboring borough, from which many Brookfield students hail, Islington, is running a number of events/initiatives linked to repair and reuse (clothes, books, electrical items):
