Music News
The Year 5 Ukulele players are making good progress. Please remind your child to practise - a little amount a few times a week can really make a difference.
Here is a link to some tutorial videos and backing tracks the children can use with some of the pieces they have been learning:

Nursery Learning Support Assistant Opportunity
We are currently looking for someone who may be able to work for us, initially on a temporary basis, and ideally for 5 mornings (Monday - Friday) from 10.30am - 12noon to support in Catkin Nursery for 3 and 4 year olds. This may suit a parent/ carer returning to work, or someone looking to gain experience in a new career. If you would like more information, please contact our School Business Manager, Rosie who will be able to give you more information about the role.
Parent Governor Elections
We wrote to you recently about our vacancy for a new Parent Governor, and we are delighted that 3 parent/ carers have offered their support to the school. With just one post, this will now go to a vote.
Your child was given a letter yesterday (Thursday), a ballot sheet and a blank envelope. Please ensure that you take the time to vote for your chosen candidate and return your sealed envelope to the school office by Thursday 16th November.
More information on the role of governors, and our current governing board can be found on the website here
Head Lice
We have sent letters to a number of year groups about the spread of Headlice recently. Please see the information below on how to identify whether your child may have Headlice, and how to treat them.
Ensuring your child's hair is tied back each day, helps prevent the spread of Headlice.
Headlice letter
Hello everyone,
It has been another busy week for the Brookfield School Community!
First of all, thanks to all who brought along cakes and all who came to the bake sale yesterday, which raised £304! Woop woop.
Thank you to the children and adults who joined our Diwali craft session, making diyas out of clay, and decorating glass jars for our lantern walk. And thank you in particular to Manisha and Bhavini for showing us real diyas, decorating the music room with flowers, and bringing colourful powders to make mini rangolis! It was a really joyful atmosphere. The children at after-school club also made rangolis, on the floor of the junior playground, using chalk. Rangolis are often drawn outside the home to welcome guests and joy into the home, so we hope that they resisted the rain and welcomed you into school on Friday morning. Any diyas and lanterns that were left at the session can be picked up from the office.
If you are celebrating a religious or cultural festival that you would like to share with our school community, please get in touch.
