Laurel’s Update

Today, we are excited to announce the launch of our new ‘digital portfolios’ for years 1-6. Similar to ‘Google Classrooms’, they are used to innovatively capture our curriculum and showcase the brilliant learning that takes place every day at Brookfield. The sites will be used, primarily, to share foundation subjects: History, Geography, PSHE, Art, DT, RE, Computing (and French for years 3-6). We will also use these portfolios to share oracy and drama performances and maths investigations. You will soon receive an email with a link to your child’s digital portfolio and further information. Let us know what you think!

Turkey – Syria Earthquake Appeal

In the wake of the devastating earthquakes which hit Turkey and Syria we want to help, and will look at doing more after half term. In the meantime, if you are able, please consider donating via:

  • the DEC (the Disasters Emergency committee brings together 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds quickly and efficiently at times of crisis overseas) or
  • WarChild (which is responding in Syria, where delivering aid is particularly challenging)
Any donations through such charities are topped up by the government through Gift Aid.At this time, money is the most effective way to help. It can arrive quickly and buying things locally is always better to support the economy.

Finally, do please come to our PTA quiz on Thursday 9th March – there will be a staff team, so pit your wits and knowledge against your children’s teachers.!

All the details are here, with a link to buying tickets:

Camden Maths Challenge

This Wednesday, 4 of our Year 6 children went down to a local primary school, Eleanor Palmer, to compete in the Camden Primary Maths Challenge. They took part in a number of different problem solving tasks which tested their team work and reasoning skills. They had a fantastic time and came an impressive 5th place. Well done to Hector, Moheez, Haylee and Marianne - we are very proud!
