SCHOOL NEWS

Thank you to Lillie (Y3 teacher and Rights Respecting School Lead) who shared with the children her passion for boxing in this morning’s assembly. Taking part in this sport forms a strong part of Lillie’s identity and helped challenge any gender stereotypes the children may have about women and this sport. This is part of a series of assemblies about the children’s right to their identity. If any parents would like to share an aspect of their identity with their child’s class or in an assembly please get in touch.

Thank you for everyone’s patience and flexibility in response to the roof collapse on Monday. It was with great regret that the school needed to be closed on Wednesday to allow the scaffolding of the building perimeter. This was due to the risk of falling roof debris, scaffolding breaking a window and compromised fire exits. We have now had a full health and safety assessment by Camden and inspections by a building surveyor and structural engineer. Further scaffolding is going up this Saturday to enable close up inspection, removal and replacement. Sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by the closure.

CARD GAME OF THE WEEK

Maya (6A) writes:

I entered the Go Ape Adventurer competition after hearing about it in class. The Go Ape Adventurer competition was a national competition where children from across the country submitted a story or drawing about an adventure they have been on or would like to go on. My entry was a collage about a girl who goes on an imaginary adventure in space and I waited for a reply. One month later they sent my mum an email that said I had won! I have won £100 worth of art supplies, a family and a class trip to Go Ape (a climbing and adventure course)! I’m really proud of myself and I hope to enter more art competitions.

SPARE CLOTHES & PHONES FOR RECEPTION

Do you have any spare clothes you could donate to school? Reception are particularly looking for bottom halves i.e trousers, leggings, tights, pants, socks etc. Age 4-5 years. Anything you have going spare would be very gratefully received.

The EYFS would also like any spare phone’s you might have, be it landline or mobile. They don’t have to work! As many as possible would be great. Thank you.
