SCHOOL NEWS

As we come to the end of a wonderful Spring term, it is timely to reflect on our children’s achievements and the memories they have created. We look forward to new experiences in the Summer term and building on the progress the children are making. At the end of this term, we enjoyed Rock Steady and instrumental assemblies, 5L participated in a Shakespeare School Foundation workshop with a focus on justice, Y3 children had their photos taken for the Tate project and shared their dance work with parents and carers while Y1 further explored their FAB illustration work. We wish all our families a wonderful Easter break and we look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 23rd April from 8.50am.

Calling Brookfield Alumnus!

The PTA of Brookfield would like to get in touch with lots of former Brookfield pupils to build up a list of alumni, keep you in touch with school news and events and invite you to a summer party at the school. We are keen to form a community of alumni around the school to keep people in touch with each other and the school, and to help with fundraising too. Please email brookfieldcamdenalumni@gmail.com if you would like to be added to the newsletter mailing list – newsletters will probably only be sent once a term, so don’t worry about receiving endless messages!

Hope to hear from you soon and thank you for your support,

The Brookfield PTA

Do you have any spare clothes you could donate to school? Reception are particularly looking for bottom halves i.e trousers, leggings, tights, pants, socks etc. Age 4-5 years. Anything you have going spare would be very gratefully received.

The EYFS would also like any spare phone’s you might have, be it landline or mobile. They don’t have to work! As many as possible would be great. Thank you.

SPORTS NEWS

As a partner school for The Place, we were fortunate to have an  in school performance from the London School of Contemporary Dance. We were able to watch and be inspired. We do our very best to nurture and enrich creative, critical and complex thinking. Do ask what your child interpreted from the performances.

Those in the swimming gala team, please try and practice over the holidays. The competition is the week we return to school, Friday 26th April.

5A PARENTS

I am aware that there are concerns regarding the dance festival and Paris trip. Circumstances out of our hands moved the Paris trip to the day after. You will collect your child from The Place by 8pm latest. You all live close by and children will be home and tucked in bed by 9pm as long as you go home immediately after the festival. It gives the children a minimum of 8 hours sleep. If you have concerns then do communicate them with me. The children have been working very hard creating and rehearsing the choreography from the performance and they will deliver an amazing performance!

From Friday 3rd May Nursery will have PE lessons. A letter will be sent when we return to school with further info. We are really excited to be teaching them!

The week we return there will be no sports clubs before or after school.

*** FOREST SCHOOL FUNDRAISING ***

So many brilliant ideas have emerged from classes and class reps for raising money for forest school and outdoor learning. Each year group has a target of £1000 and so far lots of really fun and community-building events have been planned for the Summer term.

Your child can decorate a leaf to put on our beautiful fundraising ‘tree thermometer’ in the school hall. This will show the money we have raised event by event.

If you’d like to donate directly, you can do so via the school website or on the link below:

https://bit.ly/2OR3qnQ

And do email us at the address below or chat in the playground if you have any questions.

*** PTA AGM ***

This will be on Thursday, 2nd May, 6.45-8pm. Open to all and another opportunity to talk about forest school fundraising. We will provide some toys to keep the little ones entertained!

*** BROOKFIELD QUIZ NIGHT ***

AND ANOTHER DATE FOR YOUR DIARY: THE AWESOME SCHOOL QUIZ!!!! Thursday 23rd May in the school hall.
