Many thanks to the Year 1 parents/carers who turned up for this morning’s curriculum meeting. We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to hear more about this year’s learning and to spend some time over refreshments with the class teachers . The remaining curriculum meetings will take place this week as indicated above and then on Wednesday 26th September (Y5) and Thursday 27th September (Y6). If you are able to help with serving the refreshments, please contact the office to let them know. Many thanks!
Thank you to Laura for giving an informative presentation in assembly on the role of the Rights Ambassadors. Application forms have been given out and children have until Wednesday to return them to their class teachers.
This week, I am going to be sending out a letter which outlines the way we communicate with parents/carers. I do hope you find it informative and helpful. One key change that we are introducing is in relation to the use of email. From now on, if you need to pass on information regarding absences, pick ups and medical appointments, please email the office. If you need to contact somebody about day to day matters, please email the teacher and if there are any serious concerns, please email the phase leader.
The phase leaders’ email addresses are:
email@example.com (Laurel – EYFS phase leader),
firstname.lastname@example.org (Katherine – KS1 phase Leader)
email@example.com (Lauren – Lower Key Stage 2 phase leader)
firstname.lastname@example.org (Faye – Upper key Stage 2 phase leader)
Last week, letters were handed out regarding the trips and workshops your children will be taking part in this year. Please ensure you sign the permission slip and return it to your class teachers.
Y4 swimming starts Monday 24th September. PLEASE can adults confirm before the end of the week that they can support with the walk to and from the leisure centre.
The remaining trials for the cross country will be completed this week. I am really struggling with Y5. They have PE on Wednesday and Friday afternoon. I really need help from 1.45 – 3.15pm. It is just walking the year group down to the heath and back to school.
The netball team have matches on the two coming Mondays: 24th Sept and 1st Oct. The children in the team have been given the fixture schedule.
Today’s assembly was on ‘respecting our bodies’ and I asked the children which superhero they most likened themselves to. In your opinion who are you most like? Keep it to your self or share; I would love to know! The main message I wanted the children to hold on to was balance. To have it with what they eat, rest and play.
So parent’s this week’s thought is for you; To be in your children’s memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today – wise old Haseeb email@example.com
Final call for Lego donations! Please bring in any unwanted bricks you may have at home. Thank you!
If you haven’t already, please ensure your clubs slips are handed in (the deadline is today!)
Those who have been offered a place will receive letters in the next few days requesting payment (£10 for this half term and £20 for next)
Clubs will start next Monday 24th September and will run up until Christmas.
